Adele performed “I Drink Wine” at the 2022 BRIT Awards: her first performance since her One Night Only television special and the ITV special An Audience With Adele.
Complete with a glittery gold background, long gold dress, grand piano, and backup singers, Adele crooned the emotional 30 song - about shedding one's ego. The track was originally debuted live during Adele's One Night Only concert and peaked at #18 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, during the week ending December 4, 2021.
Adele had a very good night at this year's BRIT Awards. She won the first award of the night, taking home Song of the Year for “Easy on Me.” She was also awarded Album of the Year for 30, and received the Artist of the Year award: a noteworthy achievement since this year the ceremony eliminated gender-specific categories. She beat out Dave, Ed Sheeran, Little Simz, and Sam Fender for the honor.
Adele's last performance at the BRITs was in 2016, when she sang “When We Were Young.” She also took home four awards that year.
Adele's 30 was released this past November. In January, she shared a Sam Brown–directed video for the track “Oh My God.” Also in January, she announced that she was postponing her residency at the Caesars Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas due to half of her crew testing positive for COVID-19 and delivery delays. In an emotional video, Adele explained the production simply wasn't ready to run. The residency is postponed indefinitely until further notice.
