The name is a nod to the Newnan High School Cougars. Newnan is located aproximatelly 35 miles to the south East of downtown Atlanta. The first song played on The Cat, was "Dancing in the Flames" by the Weeknd on October 26, 2024 at 5pm. The music format is Mainstream Contemporary Hit Radio / Hot Adult Contemporary. The free and streaming station has a short news cast at the top of each hour, and weekday programming includes a live morning show with focus around local community events and happenings, traffic and weather updates, and an 80's show at noon.
