Megan Thee Stallion Surprise Drops 'Traumazine'

As soon as we reported on Wednesday (August 10) Megan Thee Stallion had released a video clip teasing a potential studio album called Traumazine, Megan announced she would be surprise-dropping the LP on Friday, August 12. Now, the highly-anticipated follow-up to her 2020 debut Good News is finally here!

Guests on the Houston rapper’s new record include Key Glock, Rico Nasty, Latto, Pooh Shiesty, Jhené Aiko, Dua Lipa (“Sweetest Pie”), and Future (“Pressurelicious”). The 18-track LP, recorded at Criteria Studios in North Miami, also features Megan’s spring single “Plan B.”

Megan Thee Stallion discussed the new album in a recent cover story interview with Rolling Stone. “I want to take you through so many different emotions,” she said. “At first you was twerking, now you might be crying.” She added: “I just always want people to remember, ‘Yes, Megan Thee Stallion, she was great, she was a rapper. She was one of the best rappers, the coldest.’”

Traumazine follows last year’s compilation album Something for Thee Hotties. On Thursday night (August 11), Megan celebrated her new album release by co-hosting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She joined him during his monologue and a “Thank You Notes” segment.

In other Megan Thee Stallion news, the artist was recently honored with her very own day in her hometown of Houston. Last month, Megan joined a number of artists who spoke out during their concerts about the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Earlier this year, it was also announced that Megan will be the subject of an upcoming docuseries.
