Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Eddie Vedder, & More Donate Equipment to MusiCares Charity Auction
Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Eddie Vedder, Carlos Santana, and more have donated a variety of equipment to the MusiCares Charity Auction.
The Recording Academy’s non-profit charity MusiCares will be putting on the auction on Jan. 24, the same day Aerosmith will be honored as the 2020 MusiCares Person of the Year. The auction starts at 11am PT via Julien’s Auctions, but there is the opporunity for advance bidding starting Dec. 27 on the Julien’s Auctions website.
Among Aerosmith's donations are Steven Tyler’s autographed Shure SM58 microphone and white stand with an array of scarves, Joe Perry's autographed Les Paul Signature guitar, Tom Hamilton's autographed bass, Brad Whitford's Stratocaster guitar, and Joey Kramer's Remo Emperor drumhead.
A Nixon Ltd custom watch made from Tom Petty’s guitar strap, Eddie Vedder's ukulele, and Linda Ronstandt's framed and signed copy of her album Heart Like a Wheel are also up for auction. BTS, Halsey, Dave Grohl, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Pete Townshend, Carlos Santana, and Fleetwood Mac donated items for the auction as well.
