Dixie Chicks Change Their Name to 'The Chicks'
The Dixie Chicks will now officially go by "The Chicks," according to the change that was made on their website and social media.
The country trio's social media handles, website URL, and new song/video "March March" all reflect the name change. While they haven't released an official statement on the change, their website reads, “We want to meet this moment.”
According to Rolling Stone, the trio did note in a statement that they consulted with New Zealand duo The Chicks and they will now co-exist and share the name.
The name change comes after the national ongoing conversations about racism in the U.S.
