Miley Cyrus Promos New Year's Eve Special & Stuns with 'It Should Have Been Me' Cover on 'Fallon'
Along with SNL actor Pete Davidson, Miley Cyrus made a special appearance on The Tonight Show to promote her upcoming televised New Year's Eve special, Miley's New Year's Eve Party.
Cyrus and Davidson gave some tidbits away during their chat with Fallon, noting that the upcoming New Year’s Eve show will reflect on some of the good moments from 2021. They also revealed they would be shooting the special live from Miami and that it might include nudity, humor, and possibly some singing from Pete Davidson as it gets closer to midnight.
During their appearance, Cyrus also took the stage to cover Yvonne Fair's "It Should Have Been Me" with the Roots. Not only did she nail the belting chorus, she jumped off the stage to sing the song directly to Davidson to make him hysterically uncomfortable.
"Pete Davidson, how are you gonna do this to me?" she sang just before stealing his hat and sitting on Jimmy Fallon's desk.
Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will feature special guest appearances and performances with more announcements coming soon. Produced by Lorne Michaels, it will air live on NBC starting Friday, Dec. 31 at 10:30pm ET before wrapping half an hour into the new year. It will also be streaming live on Peacock.
In other Miley Cyrus news, the singer recently received a Forbes 30 Under 30 honor and according to the Twitter account @chartdata, she was ranked as Billboard's #1 female rock artist of 2021.
