Nirvana Reunion at Foo Fighters' Cal Jam?
The Foo Fighters' "Cal Jam 18" kicked off last night and will continue today with acts such as Giants in the Trees, Manchester Orchestra, Garbage, Iggy Pop with Post Pop Depression, and of course, Foo Fighters.
Surviving members of Nirvana are on the bill for the festival: Dave Grohl and Pat Smear in Foo Fighters and Krist Novoselic in Giants in the Trees. Also in attendance, though not listed as performers, are Joan Jett (who performed vocals with Nirvana at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2014) and John McAulay of Deer Tick (who also stood in for the late Kurt Cobain at the aftershow party performance for Nirvana's HoF induction).
Earlier this week, Cal Jam's Twitter account announced that Joan Jett's new documentary, "Bad Reputation," would be screened during the festival, adding "We wish we were getting the real thing too."
The Foo Fighters retweeted it, along with the comment "What else could be up our sleeves? Stay tuned..."
The Foo Fighters followed up that Tweet later with a video from Nirvana's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aftershow party, which was later retweeted by Nirvana's official Twitter account:
