'SNL' to Return with Musical Guests Kacey Musgraves, Halsey, Young Thug, & Brandi Carlile
Our favorite New York comedy show, Saturday Night Live, is coming back! With the announcement of its return come announcements of future musical guests, including Kacey Musgraves, Halsey, Young Thug, and Brandi Carlile.
Musgraves, who made her SNL debut in 2018 when Golden Hour was released, will kick off season 47 alongside host Owen Wilson on Oct. 2. Then on Oct. 9, it will be Halsey's turn. She performed songs from her third album Manic last year during the first 2020 episode of SNL, and will be making an appearance alongside host Kim Kardashian.
Next up is Young Thug who, after collaborating with Megan Thee Stallion on the SNL stage last year, will make his proper solo debut as a musical guest with host Rami Malek on Oct. 16. Finally, Brandi Carlile will debut as musical guest with Ted Lasso host and SNL alum Jason Sudeikis.
All four musicians have recent or soon-to-be-released projects to promote. Musgraves' latest studio album star-crossed came out Sept. 10 and launched at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums and Top Album Sales charts. Halsey's fourth studio album If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power was released Aug. 27 and also topped Album Aales, as well as Alternative Album and Vinyl Album sales.
Young Thug's album Slime Language 2 came out in April, but his second studio album Punk is slated to be released the day before his SNL appearance on Oct. 15. Carlile will release her seventh studio album In These Silent Days on Oct. 1, so her SNL performance will likely feature a song or two from the project.
