Spice Girls to Mark 25th Anniversary of 'Wannabe' with Limited Edition EP
The Spice Girls know what fans want, what they really really want! To mark the 25th anniversary of their beloved debut single "Wannabe," the iconic girl group is releasing a limited edition EP - Wannabe25. They have also launched a campaign, #IAmASpiceGirl, for fans.
Wannabe25 will be available digitally on July 9 and physically (vinyl and cassette) starting July 23 via UMC/EMI. Pre-orders are available here.
The EP will contain the original 1996 version of "Wannabe," a remix by Junior Vasquez, the previously unreleased original "Wannabe" demo recording, and a demo of an unreleased ballad - "Feed Your Love" - penned by "Wannabe" co-writers Richard Stannard and Matt Rowe.
Fans are encouraged to share their Spice Girls-related stories on social media via the #IAmASpiceGirl hashtag (or by emailing tales to spicegirls@umusic.com). The stories will be shared by the Spice Girls on the group's website and socials.
After “Wannabe” topped the charts in 37 countries, the Spice Girls’ debut album Spice went on to sell more than 31 million copies worldwide, thus becoming the best-selling album of all time by a female group. They've gone on to sell more than 90 million records globally. The Spice Girls have three studio albums and 11 singles to their name, and have won a host of awards including a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music.
