Tierra Whack Announces New Studio Album 'World Wide Whack'

Tierra Whack is back with a project that she claims to be her "debut album." On Monday (January 22), the Philadelphia talent took to social media to announce her latest studio effort, World Wide Whack, which will be arriving on March 15.

The project will follow 2018's Whack World, her actual debut LP. So far, only the cover for World Wide Whack has been shared. It was created by conceptual artist Alex Da Corte (who directed the music video for Whack’s 2020 single “Dora”). According to a press release, the artwork represents “the first reveal of the World Wide Whack character, an alter ego both untouchable and vulnerable, superhuman and painfully human, whose surprising story will unfold in images and video over the course of the album’s visual rollout.” The character is also inspired by 17th-century Italian clown Pierrot, fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli, and Donna Summer.

As part of the new album campaign, Whack shared different photos of fans next to promotional posters unveiled in various locations around her hometown. She also confirmed a new single from the album, titled “Shower Song,” will drop this Friday (January 26).

Back in 2021, Whack released a trilogy of EPs – Rap?, Pop?, and R&B? – plus songs including “Walk the Beat,” “76,” “8,” and “Link.” Last year, she released the single “Chanel Pit” and starred in Cypher: a feature film on Hulu that centered around her life by way of a blend of fiction and documentary.
