Brockhampton & Danny Brown Release Colorful Music Video for New Single 'BUZZCUT'

Yesterday evening, American hip hop boy band Brockhampton released a visually stunning music video for their newest single, "BUZZCUT."

The drop comes after an Instagram update where Kevin Abstract promised the group would release a new video if his post received over 5,000 comments. The "BUZZCUT" music video was directed by Dan Streit with creative direction by Abstract.

In the chaotically colorful video - which features early 2000s-esque visuals and has an experimental beat reminiscent of Brockhampton's iridescence days - the boys drive a car, transform into animated versions of themselves, and even puke up slime. Detroit rapper Danny Brown appears about halfway through, floating out of Joba's mouth. The band's producer, Jabari Manwa, also provides background vocals on the track.

"BUZZCUT" marks Brockhampton's first official release since dropping their fifth studio album, Ginger, in 2019. The group previously linked with Dua Lipa and Jon B for a remix of their track "SUGAR," which premiered in March 2020. Besides Danny Brown and Dua Lipa, Brockhampton has also collaborated with artists such as Dominic Fike, Deb Never, serpentwithfeet, Jazmine Sullivan, and Ryan Beatty.

"BUZZCUT" will likely be part of Brockhampton's new album, which has been teased by the band with the release of a short video. While a title and release date have yet to be announced, the project is expected to drop sometime this year.
