Clairo Preps 2022 North American Tour
Clairo has announced a 2022 North American tour in support of her second studio album Sling. The shows will take place in February, March, and April, and will feature performances by British singer-songwriter Arlo Parks and Brooklyn band Widowspeak.
The tour will begin Februrary 16 in Charlotte, NC and conclude April 16 in Atlanta, GA. The presale starts today (July 21) while the general public can buy their tickets on Friday, July 23 at 10am local time. Ticket purchases can be made via Clairo's website. For the trek, Clairo is partnering with SafeTour and Calling All Crows to create a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free environment at the concerts.
“Now that shows are starting to come back into our everyday lives, it’s important to prioritize everyone’s experience to the fullest,” Clairo stated in a press release. “Everyone deserves a resource and everyone deserves to enjoy the show in peace. I want the audience to know that there is someone who will listen and believe them at every show.”
Sling is Clairo's follow-up to her critically-acclaimed debut Immunity, and was produced with the help of Jack Antonoff. With a folksy sound, Sling addresses several deep topics, including sexualization, motherhood, mental health, and the loneliness of the pandemic.
Last month, Clairo premiered her Sling song "Blouse" on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She also contributed backup vocals to Lorde's recent hit song "Solar Power." In return, Lorde provided backup vocals for "Blouse."
