Elton John's Final U.S. Show to Livestream on Disney+
Elton John's "final" U.S. concert – a Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour show at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium – is set to be livestreamed on Disney+.
The streaming service officially announced Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances And the Years That Made His Legend during the recent D23 Expo. Disney Branded Television’s division president, Ayo Davis, talked about the documentary and livestream – which Disney acquired for about $30 million.
John's livestreamed LA show accompanies the previously-announced original documentary about the musician, which was co-directed by R.J. Cutler (Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry) and John’s husband David Furnish. The doc will feature unseen concert and archival footage, offering an in-depth look into John's career and life, all the way up to present day.
While the Dodger Stadium concert marks what is expected to be John's last U.S. show, John will continue to tour around the world into 2023 with his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour – with stops in Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.
Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium will stream on Disney+ on Nov. 20. At the time of writing, a release date for the documentary has yet to be announced.
In other Elton John news, the singer recently released "Hold Me Closer" alongside Britney Spears. The song is a reworked version of John's hit track "Tiny Dancer." The collaboration marks Britney Spears' first new song since the dismantling of her conservatorship.
