IN MEMORIAM: Mark Lam

We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of Live365’s longtime previous CEO Mark Lam following a car accident in his native country of Taiwan.

Mark pictured on the right.

Mark initially served as an advisor to the company, becoming CEO in 2004. First order of business was securing a new round of funding needed for survival following the dot com crash in the early 2000s.

A champion of small webcasters and independent artists, he was a founding member of the Digital Media Association (DiMA) and participated in numerous Congressional and CRB hearings fighting for a place at the table for small webcasters and independent artists. Mark also understood the global reach of internet radio and expanded Live365’s content and interface with multiple genres and languages while securing streaming rights in other countries that we maintain today.

Following his time at Live365, he returned to the university to teach international business and pursue a new career in green architecture. He was working on world-class projects with his partners in Taiwan at the time of his accident.

He had recently emailed the Live365 team on how excited he was knowing our continued passion for “the world’s audio” was flourishing in the rejuvenated Live365 of today.

Our sincere condolences. Thank you for your contribution, Mark.
