Kali Uchis Releases New Song 'No Hay Ley'

Kali Uchis has shared her first piece of new solo music since releasing her sophomore album Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞ two years ago. Titled "No Hay Ley," the song has got some serious 90s club influence in its mix.

The song was produced by Jam City, Kali Uchis, El Guincho, and Ovy On The Drums. Uchis first teased the new track on August 15 on social media with a snippet of the hook, and later posted it onto her stories on August 17. On August 31, Kali dropped a set of pictures captioned “NO HAY LEY this Friday,” stating the song would be released today, September 2.

“I wrote this song about putting love above all else,” Uchis said of her new single in a press release. “‘En el amor no hay ley’ means ‘there are no laws to love.’ Be with who makes you happy, and don’t listen to what anyone else has to say about it because it wasn’t their business in the first place!”

Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞ – Uchis’ first-ever Spanish language LP – was released in 2020 and nominated for Best Música Urbana Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

More recently, Uchis has shared “Bad Life” with Omar Apollo, “Another Day in America” with Ozuna, and “Desafinado” for the Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack, which was produced and curated by Jack Antonoff. Back in April, Uchis revealed on the red carpet of the Latin American Music Awards that she has completed her third and fourth studio albums, with one in Spanish and one in English.
