Kendrick Lamar Drops Music Video for 'Rich Spirit'
Kendrick Lamar has released his latest music video to support Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. It's for "Rich Spirit", and it comes after visuals for “The Heart Part 5,” “N95,” and “We Cry Together.”
Los Angeles filmmaker Calmatic directed the stripped-back new video, which is set in an opulent home. We watch Kendrick as he dances in barren rooms wearing cowboy boots, lies on a carpeted floor, talks on a phone with a broken cord, and vibes in a sparkling suit.
Lamar performed “Rich Spirit” on Saturday Night Live last month. The arrival of the video comes not long after Kendrick scored eight Grammy nominations for the album, which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart. He’s picked up nominations for Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “The Heart Part 5,” Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, Best Music Video, and Best Melodic Rap Performance.
In other Lamar news, the Compton rapper joined forces with designer Martine Rose for a new collection of clothing. He showcased pieces he personally designed with Rose, and according to Complex, described the opportunity as something that was on his “bucket list.”
