Nile Rodgers Releases New Song Using Fender's Acoustasonic Stratocaster
Nile Rodgers has written a new song, “Inside the Box,” to demonstrate the versatility of Fender's new Acoustasonic Stratocaster guitar.
The Acoustasonic Stratocaster is an acoustic-electric guitar with a fully hollow construction and innovative electronics. Featuring five base voices and a mod knob, the guitar can produce an endless amount of different sounds. Additionally, it has three pickup systems: Fishman Under-Saddle Transducer, Fishman Acoustasonic Enhancer, and Fender Acoustasonic Noiseless™ magnetic pickup. In order to showcase the instrument's abilities, Fender asked Rodgers to create a new song with it.
Rodgers and engineer Russell Graham commented on the guitar saying, “The voices available on the Acoustasonic are designed to evoke the real-world sources that they are based on (core acoustic, alternate acoustic, electric clean, electric fat, etc.) without traditional guitar amplification…as such, most of the voice indications on this cue sheet are marked 'no amp.'”
"HOWEVER, putting the guitar through a traditional guitar amplifier yields interesting and sometimes unexpected tones. In particular, we found that the acoustic/electric blended voice, with traditional guitar amplification applied, was reminiscent of a classic hollow-body jazz guitar - and so for the guitar solo we’ve noted that the tone is 'AMPED.'”
You can purchase the Acoustasonic Stratocaster guitar on the Fender website.
