Oasis to Release 25th Anniversary Collector’s Editions of ‘Be Here Now’

Oasis' Be Here Now was originally released on August 21, 1997. To celebrate the record's 25th anniversary, the English rock band will be dropping a series of limited-edition album formats on August 19.

The new formats for the band's third studio album include a silver-colored double heavyweight LP, a double picture disc, and cassette. All the formats are available exclusively from the band’s online store.

In celebration, the group also released a new lyric video for Be Here Now's lead single “D’You Know What I Mean? (NG’s 2016 Rethink)." The visual mixes vintage footage with new collage-like animation. According to a statement, additional lyric videos and “original Oasis content” from the era will be available throughout the upcoming #BeHereNow25 campaign. More details on that are available here.

Be Here Now was produced by guitarist/songwriter Noel Gallagher and Owen Morris and recorded at Abbey Road Studios as well as Ridge Farm, Air, Master Rock, and Orinoco Studios between November 1996 and April 1997. The album featured tracks like “D’You Know What I Mean?”, “Magic Pie,” “Fade In-Out,” and “Stand By Me.”

To build hype around the new limited-edition releases, Oasis has dropped a trailer promoting the new rollout, as well as touting Be Here Now's original accomplishments: #1 in 15 countries, the most album sales in the first 7 days of release in UK official chart history, and over 8 million in sales globally.

While Oasis broke up in 2009, members of the band are still active in music. Most recently, it was announced former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher will perform at Taylor Hawkins' tribute concert on September 3, as Oasis was one of Hawkins' favorite bands.
