Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Welcome Their First Child
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are finally parents! Rihanna gave birth to a baby boy in Los Angeles on Friday, May 13. However, news of the event wasn't made public until a week later.
Rihanna and Rocky have not commented on the original announcement made by TMZ, nor revealed their son’s name. The birth comes after weeks of Rihanna making headlines throughout her pregnancy – all thanks to her stylish maternity wear and confidence in showing off her baby bump.
Rihanna first revealed her pregnancy to the public via photos published to People and TMZ in late January. She is reportedly planning to raise her baby boy in her home country of Barbados.
Rihanna and Rocky first began dating in 2020. However, they had known each for several years already, as Rocky opened for Rihanna on her 2013 world tour and she appeared in his “Fashion Killa” video that same year.
Since releasing her album Anti in 2016, Rihanna has kept herself occupied with her Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty brands as well as her acting gigs in the Ocean’s Eleven spin-off Ocean’s 8 and Donald Glover-written film Guava Island. Although she hasn't released any new original solo music, she’s made a handful of guest appearances on tracks, including N.E.R.D.’s “Lemon” and PartyNextDoor’s “Believe It.”
As for A$AP Rocky, the rapper's last album was 2018’s Testing. After teasing new music through a PacSun ad last year, Rocky revealed he was nearly complete with a new album titled All Smiles. He recently shared the new song “D.M.B.” which arrived with a music video co-starring Rihanna.
