Tool to Return to the Road in Early 2022

Los Angeles rock band Tool is hitting the road again. The band announced on Monday (Sept. 27) that a four-month tour in support of Fear Inoculum will begin January 2022.

"It is with great pleasure I get to announce our return to the road," drummer Danny Carey said in a statement. "These past 18 months have been trying, to say the least, but from great trials come great lessons and great rewards. We are looking forward to sharing them with you."

Frontman Maynard James Keenan added, "Let's finish what we started, shall we?"

The U.S. leg of the tour will begin Jan. 10 at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon. It is the location Tool was set to play at next before the COVID-19 pandemic halted live events. Back in 2020, Tool was playing shows to support their 2019 album Fear Inoculum. After first delaying the tour in February 2020, Tool decided to cancel the dates completely a few months later.

Following the three months in the United States, Tool will take a few weeks off in 2022 before heading over to Europe. The European leg is set to begin on April 23 in Copenhagen. The tour will conclude May 24 in Budapest.

As for opening acts, Blonde Redhead will support the Jan. 10-Feb. 10 dates, while The Acid Helps will open the Feb. 19-March 20 shows. It is unclear yet what acts will open for the European leg of the tour.

Tool Army members can access presale tickets beginning Sept. 28 at 10am local time for European dates, and Sept. 29 at 10am local for United States shows. There will also be exclusive packages available during the presale windows. Tickets for all dates go on sale to the general public Friday (Oct. 1) at 10am local time.
