2019 Oscars Preview: What to Expect
The 91st Academy Awards are airing live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles tonight (Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019) on ABC at 8pm EST/5pm PST.
Currently, there is no official host and producers have selected some celebrities to keep the show moving.
Announced presenters include: Whoopi Goldberg, Elsie Fisher, Danai Gurira, Brian Tyree Henry, Michael B. Jordan, Michael Keaton, Helen Mirren, John Mulaney, Tyler Perry, Pharrell Williams, Krysten Ritter, Paul Rudd, Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Tina Fey, Allison Janney, Brie Larson, Jennifer Lopez, Frances McDormand, Gary Oldman, Amy Poehler, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, Amandla Stenberg, Charlize Theron, Tessa Thompson, Constance Wu, Javier Bardem, Angela Bassett, Chadwick Boseman, Emilia Clarke, Laura Dern, Samuel L. Jackson, Stephan James, Keegan-Michael Key, KiKi Layne, James McAvoy, Melissa McCarthy, Jason Momoa, and Sarah Paulson.
It was also announced that Serena Williams would be part of the show, specifically talking about the influence of A Star Is Born alongside some other celebrities.
Performances include most of the songs nominated for best original song. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will be performing "Shallow" from A Star is Born, Jennifer Hudson will sing "I'll Fight" from RBG, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings will perform "When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings" from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and Bette Midler will perform a rendition of "The Place Where Lost Things Go" from Mary Poppins Returns. Queen and Adam Lambert will also be performing and Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic will perform a "In Memoriam" segment.
Although the other 4 songs up for best original song are being performed, it was confirmed that Kendrick Lamar and SZA will not be performing "All the Stars" from Black Panther.
Some of the biggest awards of the night include "Best Picture," "Lead Actor," "Lead Actress," and "Original Song." Check out the nominees for each award below:

The Oscars All Access: Red Carpet Live will be live streamed exclusively on The Academy's Twitter at 6:30 pm EST/3:30pm PST. The Oscars Opening Ceremony: Live from the Red Carpet will air live on ABC starting at 6:30 pm EST. There will also be live red carpet footage on E! at 5pm EST.
