‘Adele One Night Only’ Special to Air on CBS Ahead of Album Release
On November 14, just five days before the release of Adele’s fourth album 30, fans will get their first chance to hear new music during a two-hour TV special called Adele One Night Only.
Airing on CBS, the event will be broadcast from 8:30-10:30pm ET on Sunday, Nov. 14. It will also be available to stream live and on demand via Paramount+. The concert will be filmed in Los Angeles, and include plenty of Adele's beloved hits, as well as some new tracks from 30.
Besides the first concert performance of new material, the special will include an interview with Adele by Oprah Winfrey. According to a statement, the conversation will touch on Adele's "new album, the stories behind the songs, life after divorce, weight loss and raising her son.”
The special is produced by Fulwell 73 Productions and Onward Productions in association with Harpo Productions. The executive producers are Late Late Show With James Corden and the 2021 Grammy Awards producer Ben Winston, Adele, her manager Jonathan Dickins, and Raj Kapoor.
Last week, Adele officially confirmed her new album and released the first single from 30, "Easy On Me." In announcing the personal album over social media, Adele compared it to a pal who helped her through several life struggles.
“It was my ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life," she wrote. "When I was writing it, it was my friend who came over with a bottle of wine and a takeaway to cheer me up. My wise friend who always gives the best advice...The friend who’d stay up all night and just hold my hand while I’d sob relentlessly not knowing why. The get up and go friend who would pick me up and take me somewhere I said I didn’t want to go but just wanted to get me out the house for some vitamin D...That friend who no matter what, checked in on me even though I’d stopped checking in with them because I’d become so consumed by my own grief. I’ve painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart since then and this album narrates it. Home is where the heart is.”
To be released November 19, 30 finds the U.K. singer working again with Greg Kurstin - who collaborated with her on the Grammy-winning 25 - Max Martin, and Inflo. Swedish composer and producer Ludwig Göransson, who won an Academy Award for his revered Black Panther score and works closely with Childish Gambino, also has a credit on the album. There are no featured guests on the record, and it is now available to pre-order.
