Amy Winehouse Biopic in the Making

The Winehouse family has announced that a biopic about Amy Winehouse is in the works, which will begin filming in 2019. The Winehouse family will serve as executive producers and the proceeds from the film will benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

“We now feel able to celebrate Amy’s extraordinary life and talent,” said Winehouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse. “And we know through the Amy Winehouse Foundation that the true story of her illness can help so many others who might be experiencing similar issues.”

Alison Owen, mother of Lily Allen, and Debra Hayward of Monumental Pictures will produce the film with Kinky Boots writer, Geoff Deane, who will help adapt Winehouse’s life story.

Recently, it was also announced that there would be an Amy Winehouse hologram tour coming in 2019 as Base Hologram had teamed up with the Winehouse estate.
