NBC to Air Dolly Parton’s Grand Ole Opry Anniversary Concert This November
In celebration of her 50th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry, Dolly Parton will be performing on the Opry stage in Nashville on Oct. 12. Although the show is sold out, it has been announced that NBC will air the all-star concert as a two-hour special during Thanksgiving week.
Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Grand Ole Opry airs Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 9pm ET. The special will feature interviews, a performance from Parton herself, as well as tribute performances by Emmylou Harris, Toby Keith, Hank Williams Jr., Dierks Bentley, Margo Price, Lady Antebellum, and Chris Janson.
“I’m so thrilled to be celebrating my 50-year anniversary with the Grand Ole Opry,” Parton said in a statement. “I’m also excited that NBC wanted to share in this milestone with me. Together we hope to entertain a broader audience on what the Grand Ole Opry is and what it means to me.”
Dolly Parton became a member of the Grand Ole Opry on Jan. 4, 1969.
