Reba McEntire to Receive CMT's Artist of a Lifetime Award
Reba McEntire is set to receive CMT's Artist of a Lifetime award presented by Ram Trucks at this year’s CMT Artists of the Year event, which airs live on Oct. 16.
Previously, Loretta Lynn, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, and Merle Haggard have been honored with the award. The award dates back to 2014, making McEntire the fifth recipient.
“I have loved entertaining people since I was a little girl and after being in the music business more than 40 years, I’m still having so much fun! For CMT to recognize me as the ‘Artist of A Lifetime’ is pretty special,” McEntire said of the honor in a statement.
Aside from the Artist of a Lifetime award, CMT will honor the artists that ruled the last year in country music with surprise musical pairings. They will honor Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, and Thomas Rhett as the five Artists of the Year.
CMT Artists of the Year's 10th annual celebration will air live from Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville on Oct. 16 at 8pm EST/PST.
