Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2021 Nominees
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2021 nominees, which include Mary J. Blige, Foo Fighters, JAY-Z, Rage Against the Machine, and more.
The ballot, which is one of the most diverse and gender-inclusive in the Rock Hall's history, also includes Kate Bush, Devo, The Go-Go's, Iron Maiden, Chaka Khan, Carole King, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, New York Dolls, Todd Rundgren, Tina Turner, and Dionne Warwick.
Of the 16 acts, 3 nominees have already been inducted into the Rock Hall: Carole King for her songwriting, Tina Turner as part of the duo Ike & Tina Turner, and Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters as part of Nirvana.
JAY-Z and the Foo Fighters each see their first nomination as they just hit the eligibility mark of 25 years after their first commercial recording release. Previously eligible artists The Go-Go's, Iron Maiden, Mary J. Blige, Fela Kuti, and Dionne Warwick are all seeing their first nomination this year.
Through Apr. 30, fans have the opportunity to vote on RockHall.com. Inductees will be announced in May 2021 with the Induction Ceremony to take place in Cleveland, OH in the fall.
