Sharon Van Etten Drops New Song 'Never Gonna Change'
Sharon Van Etten has released a new song called "Never Gonna Change" as part of the upcoming deluxe edition of her 2022 album We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong.
The new edition of the record will be out November 11 via Jagjaguwar. Besides "Never Gonna Change," it features the previously unreleased song “When I Die.” Van Etten co-produced “Never Gonna Change” with Daniel Knowles. In a statement, Van Etten said the song “is about managing depression and anxiety in the midst of isolation.”
She continued, “Coping with recurring fears throughout adulthood, acknowledging that flaws, fears and triggers can’t be overcome, they are a constant part of one’s identity to learn to be at peace with.”
The melancholy new song also comes with a brand new lyric video that features dead flower petals falling in front of a green and orange background.
In other Van Etten news, the artist recently finished up a North American tour with Angel Olsen and Julien Baker. She is set to embark on an Australia and New Zealand tour in the winter. You can find tickets here.
