The 1975 Reveal Album Title & Share Lyrics for Upcoming Song 'Part of the Band'

After teasing fans with posters revealing new music on July 7, The 1975 have given us more exciting details: the name of their next album and the lyrics to their upcoming song "Part of the Band".

Their forthcoming LP is titled Being Funny in a Foreign Language. According to Stereogum, it was revealed to fans through postcards sent by the band. The new album's tracklist will include “Part of the Band,” as well as the usual album-opening “The 1975.” The record will be a follow-up to the band's 2020 album Notes On a Conditional Form.

The 1975 recently shared a new photo with the message: “Your new album. Your new era. Your old friends. The 1975.” It came after they wiped their social media accounts back in February and sharing footage which appeared to show the band back at work in the studio. They have since replaced their photos across social media with new ones.

Along with the lyrics to "Part of the Band", frontman Matty Healy also shared a snippet of new music on his personal Instagram page. Besides being active in The 1975, Healy is also working on a side project under the moniker Drive Like I Do. Healy has been telling fans his upcoming project will include “a little bit of new music,” separate from The 1975.
