‘The Who’s Tommy’ to Make Its Return to Broadway
The Who’s Tommy, the rock opera that was created from The Who's 1969 concept album, is returning to Broadway in 2021.
The Who’s Tommy premiered on Broadway in 1993 and closed two years later after completing 889 performances and receiving five Tony Awards.
The show follows a traumatized young boy, Tommy Walker, who loses his ability to see and hear. He goes on to become a champion pinball player followed by a spiritual leader.
The new production will be directed by Des McAnuff again. McAnuff noted that it "will be a reinvention aimed directly at today.”
The opening date and cast are to be announced. You can subscribe to be the first to know any updates on the musical's website.
