Yeah Yeah Yeahs to Release First New Song in 9 Years
It's been nine years since the Yeah Yeah Yeahs released their 2013 album Mosquito. Finally, the indie rock band is back with an announcement of a new song.
The trio's new single, “Spitting Off the Edge of the World,” will arrive tomorrow, June 1, via Secretly Canadian. The song is set to feature alternative artist Perfume Genius. The band previewed the song and video at Brooklyn’s Main Drag Music, where it played inside the store all weekend.
Speaking of Brooklyn and promotional news, the band also told fans based in New York City to be on the lookout for their HellYEAHRacer – a thrashed limo with “Yeah Yeah Yeahs” written on it – during Memorial Day weekend. No news has come in yet if the decked-out vehicle will be making any more appearances.
We present to you with heads bowed and fists in the air "Spitting Off the Edge of the World" featuring @perfumegenius out June 1. Pre-save now and stay tuned to see where you can see the HellYEAHRacer on the streets of NY this weekend. 💥💥💥

“Spitting Off the Edge of the World” will mark the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ first release with Secretly Canadian. Ahead of its release, the band performed it, and a few other new songs, at a show in LA over the weekend (May 30).
The band has upcoming shows in the U.K., Australia, New York, and Los Angeles. They haven't revealed formal plans to release an album yet, but with their new song coming soon and hefty promotional campaign last weekend, it certainly seems like a possibility.
You can find tickets for the band's upcoming shows here and pre-save "Spitting Off the Edge of the World" here.
