Featured Spotlight Station: Ray Mack's Old School Radio
Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is Ray Mack's Old School Radio! We spoke with Ray Mack about the station's setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and some of the station's best hits. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
I've always had the interest to host my own radio show. I joined Live365 because of this passion and because of the licensing provided to broadcasters.
What's your studio like?
My studio consists of PARIS by Emu (software and hardware) with 128 tracks as my recording system. I also utilize a Soundcraft 24-channel mixing console, Technics 1200 turntables, Korg and Roland keyboards, Alesis studio monitors, Gemini 4-channel mixer, Audio Technica and Shure microphones, and Mackie long throw and subwoofers.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
Audiences can expect to hear old school genres of techno, classic rap, and R&B music. They can also expect to hear excerpts from my comedy performances along with pranks, discussions on relevant topics, and Gospel music on Sundays. On Sundays I also deal with various topics that are usually not addressed in the church.
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
My favorite moment is actually seeing the end result of my work come back through feedback and comments of those who enjoy my work. The support has been good so I look forward to growing my listening audience.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
Prince! He is an awesome performer and I loved watching him play various instruments.
We asked for some of the station's favorite songs. Here's what they had to say!
- Peanut Butter - The Marathons
- Atomic Dog - George Clinton
- Hydraulic Pump - Parliament-Funkadelic
- All About the Benjamins - Puff Daddy
