Greta Van Fleet Postpone Tour Dates After Singer Josh Kiszka Ruptures Eardrum
Greta Van Fleet singer Josh Kiszka ruptured his eardrum during a show in Bangor, Maine on October 8. To give him time to heal, the band has postponed seven shows on their tour.
The band initially postponed scheduled concerts in Raleigh, North Carolina (October 18); Greenville, South Carolina (October 19); and Jacksonville, Florida (October 21). They returned to play six dates late last month, but they’ve now postponed four more shows on their North American tour. Those shows include November stops in El Paso, Tucson, Anaheim, and Sacramento.
“During our last show in Bangor, I ruptured an eardrum and upon further evaluation I have just been advised it needs more time to fully heal than initially anticipated," Kiszka explained in an Instagram post. "I’m working closely with my team to ensure I get proper rest in order to finish out the year strong."
"We are working on rescheduling these shows and will announce the new dates as soon as possible. If you would still like to attend the show on the new date, simply hold on to your ticket and it will be valid. If you would like a refund, they will be available at the point of purchase as soon as the new dates are announced."
Kiszka finished the post by saying how gutted he was by the decision and thanking the fans for their support. While Kiszka is known for his high-pitched vocals, his ruptured eardrum was more likely a result of exposure to a loud noise, as opposed to his own singing.
Greta Van Fleet has been on their Dreams In Gold tour since March. The band still has two shows scheduled for December 9-10 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and will close out the year with a concert in Los Angeles on December 18. Tickets to those dates can be purchased via Ticketmaster.
