Leon Bridges to Release 'Gold-Diggers Sound' This Summer

Leon Bridges has announced his third studio album Gold-Diggers Sound, which will be out July 23 via Columbia.

The new 11-track album is the follow-up to 2018's Good Thing. Bridges just released the lead single: "Motorbike." The romantic R&B song comes with a cool new music video with modern Bonnie & Clyde vibes, directed by Anderson .Paak.

On the new song, Bridges said:

"The inception of the song started with this afrobeat-type instrumental that my homeboy Nate Mercereau made. Prior to the session, I was in Puerto Rico for my 30th with some of my best friends, and the energy of that trip totally inspired this song. “Motorbike” is about living in the moment and escaping with someone. It’s the personification of that unspoken chemistry you have with that person. A special thank you to my man Anderson .Paak for the stunning visuals."

Besides "Motorbike," Gold-Diggers Sound will also include last year's song "Sweeter." The emotional song, which features Terrence Martin, is an ode to the life of George Floyd.

Ricky Reed and Nate Mercereau helped produce Gold-Diggers Sound, with Reed also executive producing the record alongside Bridges. In addition to Martin, Robert Glasper and Ink will make guest appearances on the album.
