Steve Earle, Bobbie Gentry, & More to Be Inducted Into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame
The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame recently announced that Steve Earle, Bobbie Gentry, Spooner Oldham, Kent Blazy, and Brett James are the five songwriters that are being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. The ceremony, however, will take place in November 2021 as this year’s and next year’s classes will be inducted together as part of “a special double-sized event.”
The 2020 class was informed of the news of their induction via Zoom. To announce this year's inductees, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame released a video which includes excerpts from those Zoom calls.
The organization is set to celebrate the 2020 inductees as well as next year's class on Nov. 1, 2021. The event will simultaneously celebrate the Hall of Fame’s 50th and 51st anniversaries.
This year's nominations, which were announced in September, also included Shawn Camp, Don Henry, Tony Martin, Steve Seskin, Tia Sillers, George Teren, Kix Brooks, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Phil Vassar.
