NOT YOUR AVERAGE 80’s STATION So what is Reanim80s, then? Call it a love letter to those elements of the 80s we loved the most: alternative, punk, and new wave. But a loveletter equipped with a defib pulse to reanimate and rekindle some of the original passion in the relationship...in the form of covers, remakes, and remixes, seasoned with selected post-80s songs from some of those same 80s acts. Nothing will ever take the place of the musical treasures we mined from that decade, nor is Reanim80s an attempt to pull off such a thing. But let’s face it: even the most recent of these songs is now well over 30 years old. Time marches on and even the most inert among us changes along the way. Meanwhile, our beloved 80s songs stay the same, year after year after year, listen after listen after listen. In some ways, of course, that’s good. You wouldn’t want to actually overhaul something you’ve loved for so long. But as in any relationship that stretches over decades, the tendency to grow apart is inescapable, particularly when one changes while the other remains the same. So...what wouldn’t you give to recapture, even in fleeting flashes, the feeling you had when you experienced these songs when they were new, the addictive rush of fresh sound and style taking you to new and euphoric places? This is what Reanim80s is all about...rekindling some of those feelings. Reanimating them by lifting the veil of years and familiarity—even if only momentarily—to reveal again sublime feelings they gave us back then. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Reamin80s.
